Fast-Track Deployment by ATC and CBTS Gets System Implemented Before Annual Fundraiser

Cincinnati, OH, February 12, 2015—Advanced Technology Consulting (ATC) recently implemented a new hosted Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone system for ArtWorks. ATC deployed the cloud telephony solution, Emerge, provided by Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions (CBTS) and ArtWorks took advantage of a new service package through Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber membership.

ArtWorks is an award-winning, non-profit organization that employs and trains youth in the Cincinnati area to create art and community impact through three programming areas: public art, art therapy (ArtRx), and Creative Enterprise—an entrepreneurial exploit.

In early November, ArtWorks was in a quandary. Call quality was terrible and calls were cutting out, not to mention desk phones were quickly dying off one by one. ArtWorks originally received the phone system as a donation from another Cincinnati company in 2000. It was used at the time so the system’s recent failure was not a big surprise, but the decline was rapid. And, the non-profit’s annual fundraiser was drawing near (November 22). ArtWorks was down to three functional phones out of 17.

“I reached out to David (Goodwin) and ATC took care of it in swift time,” said Tamara Harkavy, CEO and Artistic Director at ArtWorks. “ATC coordinated everything with Bell to get the system in place quickly. The switchover was painless. Just in time for our major event, Secret ArtWorks, and just ahead of the phones ringing off the hook with secret questions, like where, what time, and how much?”

Harkavy and Goodwin, ATC’s Co-Founder and Managing Partner, were selected and currently serve together as part of Leadership Cincinnati (Class 38). Leadership Cincinnati is the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber‘s premier leadership program created for senior leaders looking to make a difference in the community.

Fortunately, ArtWorks already had a 10MB fiber circuit from CBTS, which helped facilitate deployment prior to the ArtWorks annual fundraiser, Secret ArtWorks. The CBTS Emerge solution runs across the 10MB Internet connection. The ArtWorks hosted VoIP solution includes 20 IP handsets and a conference phone.

In addition, ArtWorks took advantage of the ATC-CBTS member benefit program offered by the Cincinnati Chamber. The program is wrapped around CBTS products coupled with complimentary telecom consulting services provided by ATC.

Secret ArtWorks turned out to be a tremendous success:

  • More than 300 local, national and international artists contributed 750 works of art
  • Over 800 attended and celebrated the local artist community
  • Over $100,000 was raised to support the ArtWorks mission to employ local youth and talent to create art and community impact.
