New Clients, Community Outreach and Accolades Highlight 15th Year in Business

Cincinnati, OH, March 13, 2015—Advanced Technology Consulting (ATC) experienced record revenues in 2014 for the second consecutive year. Both regional offices—Cincinnati, OH, and Hartford, CT—exceeded previously held revenue highs. ATC’s continued growth was spawned by a burgeoning consultancy and the on-boarding of large, multi-location accounts.

ATC turned 15 years old in 2014. David Goodwin leads the Ohio office and Darren DeMartino the Connecticut office. Over the last few years, ATC has vastly expanded its services, helping leaders of organizations with cloud migration, voice and data network services, mobility, VoIP phone systems, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks, unified communications, bandwidth and back-up.

Multi-Location Networks Drive Client Work

In 2014, multi-location, complex networks spearheaded client activity for both the Connecticut and Ohio offices. Two examples include:

  1. LAZ Parking engaged ATC to rework and optimize their wireless, MPLS, POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service), and broadband services. The make-up of LAZ Parking’s 1,850 plus locations varies greatly, from the corporate “Home Office” in Hartford, CT, to urban surface parking lots and municipal, multi-level garages.
  2. ATC worked to bring the new Mike’s Carwash, headquartered in Greater Cincinnati, and its 15 locations and two support offices onto a new telephony and network service platform. In addition to the hosted phone system, Mike’s deployed a cloud-based server platform for all locations in a centralized data center.

Other noteworthy clients that came into the ATC fold in 2014 included Sleepy’s, trustaff, Lydall Inc., Cincinnati Container, Vantis Life, The Plastic Surgery Group, Dubois Chemical, Flynn & Company, BD Capital Partners, Great Oaks, Venue Magazine, Metalworking Group and Artworks.

Burgeoning Consultancy

In 2014, ATC continued its leadership at the forefront of the telecom/IT convergence, modeling an innovative practice and suite of services to help organizations—from the enterprise to the SMB—create business value from IT, cloud and telecom. The proliferation of VoIP, bandwidth-intensive applications and fiber connectivity has created a new, more complex telecom landscape. This new landscape is a multifaceted motherland of scaled services and outsourced solutions. Navigating it can be difficult. Specialist boutiques such as ATC have therefore become indispensable to organizations of all sizes.

“In the telecom field we are an inch wide and a mile deep,” says Goodwin. “We are not trying to be all things to all people. Our niche is particularly nuanced and our skill set is becoming increasingly valued at the C-level.”

“Our job is to put together an inclusive strategy to handle all services, all locations, all contracts,” adds DeMartino. “Not only do we have deep expertise in telecom, we are also project managers. We make sure everything comes together.”

A prime endorsement for ATC’s practice innovation came in 2014 through its selection by Channel Partners magazine as a winner of the Channel Partners 360° Business Value Award. In order to win, ATC demonstrated “how they are addressing the convergence of IT and telecom services and how they are creating business value for their customers.” According to the editor-in-chief of Channel Partners, “Unlike other programs that honor size and sales, this program recognizes the business value that partners are providing to their customers from holistic solutions.”

A strong, prevalent thread woven throughout the make-up of ATC is community service and leadership. In 2014, ATC donated money and resources to approximately 20 different community organizations and non-profits. The ATC team volunteered for organizations such as Dress for Success Cincinnati and Matthew 25: Ministries. ATC also volunteered and led fundraising events for youth sports organizations.

Goodwin has spent the last year serving on the Board of Directors for Dress for Success Cincinnati, a non-profit that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women. For these efforts in 2014, David Goodwin was recently honored on January 15th as one of three Pillar Award honorees for the 2015 Medical Mutual Nonprofit Board Executive of the Year. This particular Pillar Award honors contributions of time, talent or treasure by for-profit business executives for their work on the boards or communities of nonprofits.

DeMartino completed another year of service as secretary on the trustee board for the Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) Community Health Foundation, Inc. DeMartino also serves as chairperson of the South Windsor Board of Assessment Appeals, president of the South Windsor Panthers Youth Football organization, vice president of South Windsor Boys Lacrosse, and is heavily involved with the East Catholic High School Touchdown Club.

In addition to the Channel Partners 360° award, ATC was recognized and nominated for other awards as well. ATC received the 2014 Runner Up for Fast Track Business of the Year award presented by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. ATC was also nominated for the Hartford, CT, Business Champions award, produced by the Hartford Business Journal and the MetroHartford Alliance.
