April 17, 2020—Advanced Technology Consulting (ATC) recently announced a no layoff policy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. In a matter of weeks, millions of Americans have been asked to stay at home and not go to work, forcing industries to shut down and waves of layoffs.
According to the New York Times, “the number of Americans under instructions to stay at home has steadily surged upwards in recent weeks, now accounting for a stunning 95 percent of the population.” As a result, over 20 million people have applied for unemployment amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly all of the job gains since the 2009 recession have been wiped out in a single month.
ATC is pleased to announce this no lay-off pledge, which extends at least through July 1, 2020, to provide employees, clients and partners stability and certainty during these unusual and uncertain times. ATC’s core asset is its people and the intellectual capital that resides within the IT consulting firm focused on four core segments: voice, data, cloud and security.
ATC is fortunate that the technology sector has not been as hard hit as others and owe it to its people and their families to do what it can to instill confidence during this pandemic and the months ahead. Zig Ziglar once said, “You don’t build a business, you build people—then people build the business.”
While ATC has been affected like nearly every company, the team at ATC has been 100% work-from-home (WFH) and 100% operational since the beginning of the crisis, using many of the same tools it recommends to its clients. This has allowed ATC to focus on helping clients – large and small – implement their own WFH strategies by adapting existing solutions and/or migrating to new ones.
